2009

The same methodology of a previous project, “metaCAVE v.1,” was developed into a prototyping exercise to understand how component-based design strategies can come into physical existence. In doing so, the project set its design parameters and constraints in the context of readily available building materials and CAD/CAM technologies. The decision to build a full scale prototype was necessary in order to exhaustively investigate the feasibility of fabrication of parts and ultimately the final construction of the structure.
